Amber ranges in colour from milky white, through to clear yellow, orange and green, more unusually it can be found as a blue. violet and black coloured stone.

Amber originates from the fossilized resin of trees (as shown in the popular movie Jurassic Park).

Weighing very little, Amber makes great jewellery, and because of its nature of not being a hard crystal, it can be heat treated and formed into almost any shape making it great for large earrings, beaded necklaces, pendants and rings.

It is thought that the best amber can be found off the coasts of Poland and the USSR
