Traditionally given as a simple single band of gold, wedding rings symbolise the eternal bond of marriage. Wedding rings can be bought in 9, 14, 18 and 24 karat gold. We suggest that 24 karat gold jewellery should be avoided as, although made from gold in its purest form, wedding rings and other jewellery made in 24 karat is too soft (and in some cases can be cushed by hand), it also wears down very quickly giving 24 karat wedding rings a short lifespan. Care should also be taken to not place golds of different typs on adjacent ingers as again, this causes rings of a certain type to wear.
