We have carefully selected our jewellery pieces because of their unusual design and quality and we would like to share some helpful hints and tips on how to keep your pieces of silver jewellery looking good with the following jewellery cleaning techniques:
Silver can be susceptible to tarnishing which occurs over time and is due to a reaction with air. To maintain the original finish, clean your jewellery regularly using a silver cloth that is impregnated with silver cleaner and an anti-tarnish agent.
Please note: The more you use a jewellery cleaning cloth, the blacker the cloth will get; The blacker your cloth becomes, the cleaner your jewellery will be (the blackness is the cleaning agent rising to the surface) - so don't throw away used cloths, keep on using them for best results.
Good old soap and water and a soft toothbrush can also be used to clean silver jewellery. Use the toothbrush to gently clean awkward places such as behind stones and then rinse under hot water and dry with a soft, lint free cloth.
Some commercial silver dips can mark and stain a piece of jewellery if it is not rinsed well with clean water. We would recommend that if you would like to use silver dip then try and neutralise the effect of the dip afterwards by rinsing in a washing-up liquid and water solution.
To store your jewellery make sure it is kept in a cool, dry place. Storing in airtight grip bags or cloth pouches can help prevent scratches from other pieces and minimise tarnishing.
